A cloud and platform engineering company, not a general IT agency.
Opcotech is a specialist engineering consultancy focused on the infrastructure behind software products. We work with software companies that need stronger cloud, delivery, and platform engineering capabilities without introducing unnecessary tools, processes, or organizational complexity. Our work is hands-on. We examine existing systems, make engineering changes, explain the decisions, and help internal teams retain ownership.
01
Experienced engineers, working with your engineers.
We work alongside existing engineering teams rather than operating as a separate outsourced IT department.
Our engagements are built around specific technical problems and the expertise required to solve them. That includes architecture, implementation, code review, operational validation, and knowledge transfer.
We do not offer generic staff augmentation or a 24/7 operations desk. We focus on engineering the systems that make software delivery and operations more reliable.
The work
- Work beside your engineers
- Specific problems, with a handover
- No staff bench and no operations desk
02
The right tool is often the one you already run.
We prefer technology that your engineers understand, can maintain, and can hire for.
Sometimes the answer is Kubernetes, Terraform, or GitOps. Sometimes it is a simpler deployment workflow, fewer cloud accounts, or removing an abstraction that no longer serves a purpose.
We evaluate technology by the problem it solves and the operational responsibility it introduces.
03
How we make engineering decisions.
01
Keep ownership with the client
Architecture, infrastructure code, and operational knowledge should remain accessible to the people responsible for the system.
02
Automate work that repeats
If engineers repeatedly perform the same infrastructure operation, we look for a safe, maintainable way to automate it.
03
Prefer understandable systems
A design that works only when one specialist is available is difficult to operate and expensive to maintain.
04
Explain the trade-offs
Technical decisions should document why an approach was selected, what alternatives were considered, and when that decision might need revisiting.
04
Engineering work in the open.
Our public repositories provide a view into the technologies and problems we work on. Open source is useful when the work is useful, not because a repository makes a good marketing badge.
